Susan K. Leguire, MSN, APRN


Susan joined MPP in August, 2011. Her treatment philosophy is that active listening and compassion are the basis of a solid, therapeutic relationship between provider and patient. Laying this foundation allows trust to develop, which is essential for the ongoing collaborative work necessary to make progress in treatment.

Susan was an emergency room and psychiatric nurse for twenty-two years prior to becoming an Adult Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, which she has been practicing as for the past seventeen years. Her credentials and experience include:

  • Bachelor of Arts in Biology degree from Lourdes University
  • Masters of Science in Nursing degree from University of Akron
  • Doctorate of Science in Nursing degree candidate from Ursuline College
  • Internship in Geriatric Psychiatry
  • Multiple presentations on Depression, Dementia, Hoarding, Facing “The Golden Years”
  • Authored and Published, Black Socks and Sandals: Age is no excuse
  • Extensive psychiatric practice experience and as Advanced Practice Nurse in many settings including directly to patients at home, inpatient hospitals, outpatient clinics, Community Mental Health Centers, and Skilled Nursing Facilities
